Ajrakh is one of India's oldest resist-print traditions, carried by printer families of Kutch and Sindh for centuries — every motif is pressed on by hand with carved wooden blocks, layer after layer. Here it meets soft dola silk: an indigo ground carries rust-red and ivory floral buti, finishing in a rust and ivory star pallu, all framed by a silver-toned zari border. This piece is pre-washed before it reaches you. From here, dry clean it or run a gentle machine cycle, washing separately in cold water with a mild detergent. Skip the soaking, wringing and tumble drying — dry it in the shade and touch it up with a warm iron.
